Last Train From Poor Valley - Moccasin Gap Band

Moccasin Gap Band performs their cover version of Norman Blake's "Last Train From Poor Valley". This number dates back to 1974 but the message sounds very appropriate to recent troubled times for working folks. When times are good the miners have it tough and when times are bad the miners have it even tougher.

Moccasin Gap Band (from left)- Keith Sims on banjo, Eric McMurray on lead vocal and mandolin, Luanne McMurray on harmony vocal and bass, and Bob Blackstock on guitar. Everyone is from the Gate City, Virginia and Kingsport, Tennessee area.

Warriors Path State Park Autumn Folk Life Festival music series featuring Old Time, Americana, and Bluegrass was held on 17 October 2009. Moccasin Gap performed from 2-3 PM.
